Abstract
  • The project trained members of the Rose Garden United Methodist Church to meet the needs of latchkey children in Houston, Texas. At the heart of the project is a pilot program that consists of twelve afternoons over a six-week period. Sessions include games, crafts, and other activities beneficial to children. Both community resource persons and church members join in a ministry to the latchkey child. The pilot program is a model for small congregations interested in outreach ministry. It provides a means for the expression of Christian servanthood.
