This project defines a non-active member as one who chooses not to participate in the worship or mission of the church, yet retains membership in the body. Through personal interviews with twenty non-active members, the author uncovered the variety of reasons for their non-active status. Contrasting their responses, the biblical and traditional theological standards of discipleship and meaningful membership were examined.
