One of the biggest challenges faced by mainline churches today is moving beyond decline.  When faithful, the liturgy of Word and Sacrament incorporates biblical and living memories in such a way as to challenge and even reshape a community's understanding of self. Although shocked by the inhuman living conditions in El Salvador, three delegations from Holy Trinity Parish returned with more compassion and interest in service projects for the marginalized in the Salvadoran sister parish, but with a mixed interest in addressing the structural causes of poverty.
