It provides a reflective look at both the government's and religion's role in this process. It helps bring clarity to Native religion/spirituality and Christian understanding of manifest destiny. It gives an overview of the social dynamics at work to dislodge Natives from their home, their land while describing this history in the Trail of Tears. The author utilized Vyhmeister's Quality research papers, chapter 13, to create a 'Program development model' as a form of research. The event included coordinated Sunday school classes, morning worship, and Bible study, all based on the lectionary passages for Epiphany.
