The author examines the major cultural and philosophical themes of postmodernism through the lens of popular music. Two common evangelical responses to postmodernism are appraised. A defense of evangelism is offered, based on Christian realism and the ontologically unique claims of Christ. Lesslie Newbigin's model of contextually-appropriate mission, as the encounter between Gospel, culture and church, is commended as an alternative to non-foundational pluralism.
