It will attempt to show the systemic problems that led to the decline of the neighborhood and the resulting negative effect this has had on children, youth and their families, psychologically and physiologically as well as socially, educationally, economically, and spiritually. the thesis topic poses the question, What is the importance of building a faith-based initiative in a poor oppressed urban neighborhood?
