Five family systems concepts were applied in this project: homeostasis, boundaries, triangles, identified patient and differentiation. The project was based upon a theology of freedom that is found in Jesus Christ. It is God's mission in the power of the Spirit through the church. The world is a system of interactions. Conflict happens and reveals a need for God's mission of freedom in Jesus Christ. The project, a one year experience, included changes in programs, parlor meetings, session meetings, the completion of a Congregational Systems Inventory, a session retreat and a peer evaluation held after the project. The result was that elders became more knowledgeable of how systems concepts could be used to change our church family system. Communication patterns improved, destructive triangles were eliminated, anxiety was reduced and the church became energized, playful, and spiritually renewed."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["b5eba5c2-141b-4673-9689-2f9720736859"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791128261556699136,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:57:00.436Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":1,"label":"Unknown"}],"label":"Resource Type"},{"name":"creator_sim","items":[{"value":"Coker, William Donald","hits":1,"label":"Coker, William Donald"}],"label":"Creator Sim"},{"name":"contributor_sim","items":[],"label":"Contributor"},{"name":"keyword_sim","items":[{"value":"Family systems theory","hits":1,"label":"Family systems theory"}],"label":"Keyword"},{"name":"subject_sim","items":[{"value":"Congregations","hits":1,"label":"Congregations"}],"label":"Subject"},{"name":"location_sim","items":[],"label":"Location"},{"name":"language_sim","items":[{"value":"English","hits":1,"label":"English"}],"label":"Language"},{"name":"publisher_sim","items":[{"value":"Columbia Theological Seminary","hits":1,"label":"Columbia Theological Seminary"}],"label":"Publisher"},{"name":"date_created_sim","items":[],"label":"Date Created"},{"name":"types_sim","items":[{"value":"Text","hits":1,"label":"Text"}],"label":"Type"},{"name":"year_sim","items":[{"value":"1999","hits":1,"label":"1999"}],"label":"Year"},{"name":"format_sim","items":[],"label":"Format"},{"name":"member_of_collections_ssim","items":[{"value":"Columbia Theological Seminary","hits":1,"label":"Columbia Theological Seminary"}],"label":"Collections"},{"name":"degree_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":1,"label":"Unknown"}],"label":"Degree"},{"name":"discipline_sim","items":[],"label":"Discipline"},{"name":"degree_granting_institution_sim","items":[{"value":"Columbia Theological Seminary","hits":1,"label":"Columbia Theological Seminary"}],"label":"Degree Granting Institution"},{"name":"department_sim","items":[],"label":"Department"},{"name":"funder_name_sim","items":[],"label":"Funder Name"},{"name":"event_title_sim","items":[],"label":"Event Title"},{"name":"event_date_sim","items":[],"label":"Event Date"},{"name":"institution_sim","items":[{"value":"Atla RIM","hits":1,"label":"Atla RIM"}],"label":"Host Institution"}],"pages":{"current_page":1,"next_page":null,"prev_page":null,"total_pages":1,"limit_value":10,"offset_value":0,"total_count":1,"first_page?":true,"last_page?":true}}}
