It demonstrates the effectiveness of these methods in helping adults integrate belief with life experience.  Such integration is demonstrated through the writings of participants which exhibit four criteria: sensibility, insight or awareness, conviction and congruence between meaning and feeling.  A fifth criterion, release of energy or action, is not present or not determined by the evaluation methods of the study.
