The techniques which were taught were drawn from various monastic traditions and Christian mystics from throughout the ages.  They were presented over the course of eight weeks of study.  In addition to learning various styles of contemplative prayer the participants were asked to employ them for at least 15 minutes a day, five days a week, for each of the eight weeks.
