The program assessed caregiver's stress reactions, gathered religious and spiritual resources, and used these resources for self-care.  Participants' beliefs, reactions to trauma work, and use of religion and humanistic spirituality to cope were evaluated by pre- and post-tests and audio-taped recordings of the group sessions.
