The contextual approach developed by Ivan Boszormenyi-Nagy and the relational-ethical thinking of Martin Buber are applied. Based on these perspectives, the specific trust-building and trust-diminishing aspects of biblical teachings, the inherited church history, and present church life are investigated.  Modalities are outlined which reverse the process of losing trust and which enable persons to accept their relational responsibilities vis-à-vis others and the inherited legacy.
