This qualitative study explored how “sandwich generation” pastors navigate the simultaneous demands of ministry and caregiving. Data from semi-structured interviews with seven pastors was analyzed using the constant comparative method. The research examined challenges, benefits, and coping strategies of “sandwiched” pastors. This study concluded that “sandwiched” clergy experience the most significant challenges in the personal arena, while also experiencing significant benefits in the arenas of personal life, marriage, and vocation.
