The theory is tested in the Presbyterian Church of Australia in the state of New South Wales.  Data for the study is obtained by a mailed questionnaire and is analyzed with the SPSS-X.  Results indicate a strong trend toward conservatism/fundamentalism.  More conservative ministers experience the highest levels of conflict with laity and non-church people.
