In a small group setting, based on the concepts of the Wesleyan class meeting and faith development theory, the author initiated a pilot program on new member nurture.  The major problem addressed is how to sustain those who become members of the church.  The primary result was that both old and new members discovered a nurturing environment within the context of the larger institutional church.
