Wesley's class meeting format and his ordo salutis, the patristic concept of prayer, disciplined living and the struggle with the 'passions' and contemporary understandings that spirituality involves the whole of one's being undergirded the project.  The goal was that through this experience participants would confirm and strengthen their responses to the gospel.
