Quantitatively, the intervention led to a statistically significant increase from the Daily Spiritual Experience Scale pretest to the posttest. Qualitatively, through student journals and reflections, five clusters of meaning emerged: the adolescent landscape, deeper connection with God, big questions, gratitude, and common nature. The big story can be obscured by over emphasizing the moral lessons to be learned on the Old Testament narratives as well as by wrongly reading Jesus into passages in ways that are not fair. Instead, this project develops sermons for the fall semester of 2006 that attempted to demonstrate the Christological center of the Bible and it was informed by academic research.
