Learning to adapt, to adjust, and striving to achieve and to survive, in America, they are American citizens but no 'Americans.' In Vietnam, they are Vietnamese but not Vietnam's citizens. This exilic experience of Vietnamese American Catholics needs to be addressed in preaching. The Hebrews' exilic experience is helpful for Vietnamese Americans to voice their felt loss.
