The author proposes that religious truth is always experiential and therefore necessarily participative (tangible), historical/evolutionary (non-eternal), and interpretive (non-intuitive).  Focus on the intuitive, eternal and intangible led Ralph Burhoe to develop a scientific theology, Duncan Howlett a rational-critical theology, and Peter Fleck a spiritually dualistic Christian theology in the early 1980s.
