The need was addressed through Bible study, fellowship, six evangelistic worship and preaching services, congregational response and evaluation, the response of a working committee of six persons, evaluation and critical reflection with the preacher.  The content of the messages preached emphasized the non-negotiable essentials of the Christian message as the kerygma for the context.  The thesis of the project was that kerygmatic preaching plays a central role in the local church's ministry of leading people to the experiential relationship with God in Christ by the Holy Spirit. The men's responses, decisions and demands for such preaching on Sunday morning showed the necessity for such preaching.
