Questions were posed to discern if the prayer was meaningful and why (or why not) it was deemed so.  Responses to these questions are studied in light of relevant theological and pastoral care literature.  Entries from a journal written during a time of crisis are reviewed for ways in which prayer might have been voiced to meet spiritual needs.
