The pastor needs to grasp the subtle complexities in that relationship to that person, the dimensions of ministry present in care, in understanding, in conscience, in grace and the advocacy role the pastor can play in resolving issues.  The toll of this ministry on the pastor's own spiritual and psychological being is discussed in detail.  In ministering to a person at the end of their life we not only minister to but we will also be ministered to beyond our most profound expectation.  The task is both challenging and the journey uncharted. Methodology was case study, verbatim recordings, interviews and academic research.
