Employing key concepts of liberation theology introduced by Gustavo Gutierrez, as well as the theological reflections of Walter Brueggemann, Jurgen Moltmann and several Christian feminist theologians, the author argues that 'the unborn represent an oppressed class in need of relief.'  The rights of the unborn should be framed within the larger discussion of liberation theology, rather than being limited to medical, biological, or social concerns that fail to account for the biblical and theological affirmations of human life.
