Louis-Marie Chauvet developed a Eucharistic theology informed by Martin Heidegger’s linguistic turn in philosophy and Jacques Lacan’s psychoanalysis. Chauvet describes the Eucharist as a form of symbolic exchange and central to the creation of Christian identity.
