Casual conversation among the members shares new episodes of that story, while their everyday lives provide the material for each episode.  In small congregations and parishes of less than one hundred weekly worshippers, the intimately conversational nature of the sharing of the congregational story among the faithful membership has shaped the preaching into a form that is also conversational and faithful to the form of story.  It is conversational, in that it is one offering in an ongoing exchange on matters of faith; and it is faithful, in that it pays closest attention to the form and content of the biblical story of which the Church in general and this parish in particular are continuing parts. The preacher is sometimes invited to converse with the congregation.
