The first section explores a biblical theology of ministry. Focused on the principle of salvation by grace, the information will deal with how believers are saved and become holy, their relationship to the church and one another plus principles for carrying out the four tasks of ministry. Youth ministers have the incredible opportunity to become involved in the identity formation process at a crucial junction of human development. Understanding the process of identity formation is essential. This paper will also provide an overview of that process. The theology of ministry and theory of identity formation are the foundation of youth ministry. The third section will address the goal of youth ministry: the development of a truly Christian identity. In addition, this section will also present principles that are universally applicable to youth ministry.
