They find little comfort and identification in scripture once they have given up the quest for children because in scripture the barren woman eventually receives God's blessing, conceives, and bears a child. This project reviews the situation of biblical women, the texts in which barren women appear, and the possibility of reframing the idea of barrenness in a way that is helpful and supportive. A survey of such women provides beneficial detail.
