The survey of Washington State congregations will seek to validate the hypothesis that the gospel is understood as in the lordship salvation tradition rather than free grace tradition.  The purpose of the research project is embedded in the question, 'what is the gospel and how is it understood by people in the pews?' In order to test the hypothesis and answer the question, this researcher did the following: developed two separate survey questionnaires, one survey for the pastors of Washington State CBA churches and one survey for the congregants of Washington State CBA churches. The two surveys were then evaluated for areas of agreement and disagreement.
