The Index of General Affect was used to measure caregiver satisfaction with caregiving encounters before and after training that included bio-medical information on Alzheimer's type dementia and religious symbol re-presentation (based on Susanne Langer's theories). Contrary to expectations, satisfaction scores were high after the initial encounter and declined significantly after both types of presentation.
