The concept of the soul and after-death experience are traced from Greek philosophy through the writings of the patristic Fathers of the Church and into the depth psychologies of Sigmund Freud and Carl G Jung.  Case studies of near-death experiences are examined in the light of Eastern Orthodoxy.  Modern Judaeo-Christian concepts of the soul and its immortality are examined.
