The field experiment involved a pre-test of the congregation's understanding of Pauline theology, an intervention of twelve dialogic sermons on six Pauline metaphors, and a post-test to measure the results of the intervening variable.  Dialogic preaching as used in the project combined elements of inductive narrative and indirect preaching.
