By 'educate' the author means informing people by examining both the theological and political perspectives of those in the Southern Baptist Convention who are identified as 'fundamentalist-conservatives' and 'moderate-conservatives.' By means of this informational process, the author sought to present a balanced overview of the controversy which would enable the participants to draw their own conclusions of the subject.
