But what is the larger context of the big idea?  It is the bigger idea or theme of the book in which the passage is found.  This thesis-project provides a preaching series on the book of Philippians.  It will be used as a case study to show preachers the value of connecting the ideas of individual passages in a book to the book's bigger idea.
