The case studies used are from the American Baptist Churches of Massachusetts, but the findings apply to the whole Christian community. I understand that the intent of God since creation was for humanity to be diverse and to live together in harmony. Using my experiences as Area Minister, I explore some of the major barriers we need to overcome in order to create multicultural churches. Japanese view Christianity as a foreign, disjunctive religion.  Just as Japan historically syncretized Buddhism and Confucianism, Japanese experience a cultural conversion to Roman Catholicism that inculturates Japanese religiosity into a specifically Japanese Catholicism.  Overcoming difficulties of syncretizing, or bringing together a new tradition and a distinctly Japanese culture of religiosity, becomes paramount if a Japanese Christian Church is to thrive. With a special reference to Kenya, he studied the genesis and survival of this practice to the present day, documenting side effects of this inhuman terror against women.  The method of study included secondary resources from existing documented information and oral interviews.  The author concluded that eradication of female genital mutilation will be accomplished by consistent interdisciplinary efforts by the communities of faith, the medical community and women-based non-governmental organizations.  Education at the grassroots village level will lead to empowerment of women and eradication of these atrocities and crimes by a male dominated culture.
