Consequently they begin patterning their lives according to the lifestyles portrayed on the screen, with an increasing incidence of personal problems similar to those viewed. All pertinent research and publications were reviewed, and this information was used as a basis for a seminar designed to inform church-goers of the negative impact non-intentional, indiscriminate viewing has on character development and personal lifestyle values. Part one establishes a theoretical background. Chapter 1 states the purpose, justification, and limitations of the project. Chapter 2 gives an historical review of the discipline. Chapter 3 defines biblical theology.  Chapter 4 classifies various methodological approaches.  A book-by-book approach is proposed.  Part two is a practical development of the course.  Chapter 5 contains the course objectives, requirements, and outline. Chapter 6 consists of student's study guide questions for each Bible book. Some examples of interpretation of the Pentateuch are given in Chapter 7. The SIM concept indicates that faculty will carry out on-campus academic activities as well as off-campus field work with undergraduate theological students on a weekly basis.  The first part develops a theoretical framework to obtain criteria for the evaluation.  The second part contains the perceptions stated by respondents to a survey on the SIM concept.  Results indicated that the concept is widely accepted. An important challenge of Global Mission is reaching the inhabitants of the cities.  Part one of this project attempts to provide a theoretical framework by developing a theological perspective of the city, as shown in four areas: 1) an analysis of the phenomenon of urban growth around the world; 2) an examination of contextual and institutional obstacles to evangelistic actions in large urban centers; 3) the concept of the city in selected Christian literature; and 4) theological foundations for the strategy of geographical advance and city mission. A perception-test instrument was used to measure perceived burnout among eighty SDA pastors in southern California. Demographic data was also gathered to compare various factors' effects on burnout perception.  Six pastors were invited to a three-day 'spiritual disciplines retreat.' Follow-up testing of both 'retreatants' and 'non-retreatants' was compared to test whether such an intervention had reduced perceived burnout among the test group.
