The author researched motivational principles in psychology, education, the Bible, and the writings of Ellen G. White.  He taught these principles in a six-hour seminar, had participants deliver sermons using seminar principles, and evaluated the effectiveness of the principles.  Research suggested that addressing personal needs enhances motivation.  Three principal factors affect intrinsic motivation: self-esteem, participation, and most importantly the gospel. Principles of adult learning, learning style theory, and the 4MAT system of learning potentially enhance motivation. The study was to determine the number of families involved and to implement factors to increase church family involvement.  Family involvement was measured in three giving areas of tithe, church budget, and debt reduction.  A stewardship sermon series was given. Information concerning the church's financial needs was presented and personal testimonies of stewardship by church leadership were shared with the congregation.
