The study further sought to identify the factors most influencing MS. This project was evaluative in a nonexperimental mode using a quantitative research survey. The study was a pioneering work with the results indicating a great need for marriage and family ministry. Data from an extensive survey instrument mailed to the pastors is analyzed, conclusions drawn and recommendations made for further study.  The project includes a survey of marriage preparation literature written since 1940 as well as a chapter surveying marriage preparation in biblical literature.
