The design of this project was to employ an online survey that utilized a seven point Likert Agreement scale to determine the spiritual condition of the surveyed. The result of the discovery was that the Church of God clergy have an overall compliance factor of 6.03 in their general adherence to the Practical Commitments. Primarily, respondents found the resource to be understandable because of its concise directions, clearly written items, and understandable vocabulary. Secondarily, respondents agreed that the resource reflected biblical values, revealed biblical leadership principles, and was biblically based. A survey offering ideals evaluated how well pastors yielded to God within their ministry vocations. Demographics provided insight into detailed kenotic inclination. As a result, pastors showed areas of resistance and embrace of kenosis. Demographics illustrated kenosis highly among female clergy and deacons. Length of time in ministry reflected an ebb and flow. Using randomly sent surveys to pastors, I sought to elicit their experience of a discernment process.  The survey results showed that 60% did not receive any help in discerning God's calling to pastoral leadership. A survey was distributed to the clergy of the Illinois Great Rivers Conference of the United Methodist Church to assess their experience of the dark night of the soul. Interior influences like struggles with sexual issues, low self-esteem, and moral conflicts contributed to a greater experience of the dark night of the soul. A survey to measure the response of participants to that presentation was administered and the results of that survey tabulated.
