Five key directives of Jesus's leadership were developed and measured: (1) Jesus experienced life with His disciples, (2) Jesus engaged the disciples in their own development, (3) Jesus empowered the disciples with a clear vision, (4) Jesus enlisted the help of the Father for the disciples in prayer, (5) Jesus endured the Cross on the disciples' behalf. The design of this study was a phenomenological mixed methods approach. It was determined from the research data that the essence of a call to ministry is a personal and supernatural encounter with the Holy that results in the authorization of, commitment to, and empowerment for a divine commission. The method used to determine the impact of servant leadership was a questionnaire designed to assess attitudinal changes after people had participated in servant related activities.  The results of the survey showed substantial positive impact on the participants' cognitive, affective, relational, and spiritual attitudes. Five lessons were presented to twenty-two teachers and students in the Bukavu Pastor's School.  An evaluation instrument was given to assess their responses to the model. It asked if their leadership style was congruent with or impacted by the denomination's theology.  Following an overview of the history and theology of the Brethren in Christ, an argument was presented for servant leadership as the leadership style suited for this denomination.  A biblical basis for servant leadership and the spiritual formation of the leader was developed.  Robert Greenleaf's work on servant leadership was reviewed, and his impact on current leadership practices and their congruence with Christian authors was assessed.  John Ortberg's work was used to develop a scale to measure felt and observed leadership/servant qualities.  The core values of the denomination provided a way to measure the theological commitments of its pastors.
