The participants were evaluated by distributing an assessment both by mail and email. The project included the facilitation of a pre-test and post-test Likert Scale instrument.  The course content brought focus to the principle Christian mysteries of Trinity, Christ, and the Holy Spirit.  The results indicated an increase in awareness for growth in spirituality. The participants were surveyed using an online assessment tool through a website called Survey Monkey.  The eighty-five self-selected individuals responded to the assessment instrument after they completed the journey. This project introduced the lectio divina methodology to 25 actively serving pastors of the Northern Ohio District of the Church of the Brethren in an attempt to elevate the sense of God's presence in their lives. The research question is: What is the effect of the practice of specific spiritual disciplines upon leadership roles by laity within a local church setting?  A secondary question is: Does the regular practice of these spiritual disciplines promote change in leadership styles?
