Phenomenology was the research methodology used which revealed that hip hoppers commonly experience (1) their ability to relate to hip hop artists; (2) the opportunity for self-expression; (3) the influence of the music on behavior and mood; and (4) the respect for authenticity on the part of the hip hop artist. The researcher reviewed relevant biblical and contemporary literature on childrearing, leadership development and coaching. She conducted a qualitative study wherein she surveyed fifty Christian parents and gathered data during interview/coaching sessions with twelve of the fifty to determine the need and essentials for such a model. The research was qualitative in nature using a multiple case study approach. Two leadership programs for children were studied, KidLead and J12.
