The project's results were derived from a combination of research of the Bible and theological texts, investigation of contemporary Christian literature pertaining to discipeship, onsite field research and interviews conducted with other evangelical churches, and interviews, discussions, and a formal survey conducted at the primary reserach site. Spiritual well-being is defined as Christlikeness related to mankind as created in the image of God.  The eight categories of Christian maturity measured by the Religious Status Inventory, developed at Fuller Graduate School of Psychology, further refine the definition of spiritual well-being.
