The women were experiencing various transitions in their lives with resulting crises in their inner and outer worlds. This relationship-based ministry is designed to promote the recovery and reintegration of battered women and their children back into the community following their refuge in an area shelter by involving congregations as a primary foundation of support.  With the aim of offering abused women an opportunity to become independent and establish a violence and abuse-free home, the program addresses the numerous multifaceted needs of battered women through the creation of several interactive networks of supportive relationships.  The project demonstrated the program's effectiveness as a successful model for ministry. This project describes the process used to compile a handbook for local church pastors with specific focus on white 'Old Yankee' Protestant women over the age of seventy-five. Methodology included a survey of AAPC training centers and ten process-oriented sessions based on representative feminist theorists.  The central learning activity was genogram groups in which participants' shared family of origin experiences of women's issues. Gilligan's research pointed out that normative theories of development matured through their relationships.  This project thesis develops a perspective on relationship drawn from theories in the fields of psychology, theology, and faith development.  Research data consisted of twelve interviews with women who were asked to describe themselves, their relationships, and their faith.
