The author presented the decision making process found in Acts 15, Presbyterian polity, management principles, and systems theory to two church sessions.  Participants shared mind style preferences, analyzed decisions theologically and rationally, and explored systems issues.  The separation of process from content helped clarify leadership dynamics. Shared process produced solid, satisfying decisions. Pastors cited improved communication and coordination. Statistical analysis indicated preference for participatory style. Questionnaires describing situations which could occur at any church were sent to members of the congregation.  They were asked to rank up to three members with whom they would discuss the situation and to offer the reasons for their choices.  The results of the data collected show that there was an informal group of individuals who were perceived to be the decision makers.
