Fourteen church members followed a daily devotional plan for six weeks.  Tested before, during, and after the six weeks of daily devotions, the participants reported frequency of perceived hindrance to worship and prayer life in devotion to God. The report outlines biblical and theological bases for the concept of counseling through preaching.  Methodology entailed determination of issues people wanted addressed; preparation of sermons based on those concerns and summarizing feedback received by several means. The goal was to teach children how to pray using sacred dance.  The program was theologically built upon the work of Elizabeth Johnson and Sallie McFague.  It incorporated songs and scriptures containing inclusive language and images of God that were feminine, and of nature. This thesis analyzes 201 questionnaires submitted by parishioners of ten 'Main Line' congregations in southern New Hampshire/Northeastern Massachusetts.  The findings were that all but two respondents believed in healing through prayer though they differed about its frequency, and that a sizable minority reported experiencing healing.  Such belief in and experience of such healing was generally consistent across various demographic categories.
