A team of laity and clergy studied worship together.  They also surveyed their congregation regarding religious roots, beliefs and expectations about worship. They wrote collects and examined, tested and edited liturgies of the United Church of Christ and other Reformed communions. The project uses experiments in worship and mission called 'Generating Communities' and 'Interim Eucharistic Fellowships' and the Institutional Racism Commission to gather learnings about the participation of black churches in the union process. Other pastors are not opposed to children's sermons but have not yet delivered one themselves.  Still other pastors preach a children's sermon on a regular basis, but do not feel confident that they are doing it properly. Fourteen church members followed a daily devotional plan for six weeks.  Tested before, during, and after the six weeks of daily devotions, the participants reported frequency of perceived hindrance to worship and prayer life in devotion to God. It becomes evident that the parables will not be confined to a particularized definition.  The only peace one can make with them is to confirm that they are vibrantly alive and unfinished in their continual impact upon Christians.  The basic thrust of the parables seems to convey messages about the Kingdom of God.  The application of these Kingdom of God messages may be utilized in public worship, parabolical writings and church school curriculum.
