The thesis draws on the conviction that remembering will play a significant part in the grief process and will make it possible to hope. If such is the case, then our funeral rituals must provide environments of care in which remembering within the context of the Christian story might take place. The conclusion reached is that an imaginative use of the Order of Christian Funerals does indeed offer scope for remembering. The study was undertaken within the Australian context and drew on responses to a questionnaire designed to assess use of the Order in the Australian church."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Catholic Theological Union"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["b51273d2-7ff5-4ecb-af24-64508c2367ad"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791129360497901568,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:14:28.468Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T03:28:21Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:15:02Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"97d4e27d-9a9f-41c4-a8b8-f2017b9d5162","accessControl_ssim":["34c8d804-943b-4b71-af24-ab696fa51a39"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Companions of variable mindfulness: ministry in a multicultural society and church"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T03:28:20Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:34:12Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["fb0d2f7d-ceaa-4de3-ac1c-7ee145c2ea6a"],"hasLease_ssim":["6a8f208c-3b26-4a95-af98-a7e782c97eb0"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Catholic Theological Union"],"advisor_tesim":["Robert J Schreiter"],"year_tesim":["1994"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Anthony F Kain"],"publisher_tesim":["Catholic Theological Union"],"subject_tesim":["Cultural pluralism","Church work"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The issue is communication as it relates to ministry skills in a multicultural setting. The project argues that a key to skill's competence is attention to the basic communication issues of identity and anxiety/uncertainty. The project follows a praxis-theory-praxis approach. It begins with the local theology and intercultural communication tensions of the church of Adelaide, South Australia. These correlate with social perspectives and communication theories giving rise to theorems and face work that leads to fifteen skills. A spirituality (from Mark's gospel) sustains such ministry. Held together by the shared praxis approach of Thomas Groome, the project has four main methodologies. One is Robert Schreiter's method for constructing local theology. Two are from the area of intercultural communication competence: William B Gudykunst's method of anxiety/uncertainty management and William R Cupach's \u0026 T Todd Imahori's identity management theory. The fourth is Mary-Ann Tolbert's method of literary-historical criticism for the spirituality."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Catholic Theological Union"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["b51273d2-7ff5-4ecb-af24-64508c2367ad"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791129399252221952,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:15:05.427Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T21:07:49Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:19:17Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"ea82e01b-be84-4818-9196-673f2b157801","accessControl_ssim":["b1997ffd-0b20-4990-9c3b-19132fded27d"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["From brokenness to healing: a journey--pastoral care and the spirituality of people from Latin America who have suffered torture"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T21:07:48Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:50:43Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["ca8eb306-94e3-4112-af9f-64b9ed66c35e"],"hasLease_ssim":["3c3f0bdf-4202-4a55-810b-ea23d73a5071"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Catholic Theological Union"],"advisor_tesim":["Mark R Francis"],"year_tesim":["2002"],"location_tesim":["Latin America"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Luis A Vera"],"publisher_tesim":["Catholic Theological Union"],"subject_tesim":["Torture","Politics and government","Spiritual life"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The author investigated the spirituality of people from Latin America who live in the United States and have suffered torture in their native country.
