He undertakes to assess a theology of the Vietnamese dan chung, with faith in Troi used as foundation for the resolution of issues. The preachers of the conservative side have laid their emphasis upon biblicalism, fundamentalism, evangelicalism, and personal salvation, whereas those of the liberal ecumenical group have stressed liberation, ecumenism, syncretism, and social redemption.  This project attempts to discover the possibility of combining evangelical preaching with liberal preaching in the Korean church.  Expository preaching is presented as an effective model which creatively synthesizes evangelical preaching and liberating preaching. Expository preaching attempts to bind together the Word of God and the Incarnate Word.  It insists that a preacher ought to be only not the proclaimer but also the doer of what he/she proclaimed. This project is a result of research on the needs of the elderly, especially those who have become frail and require assistance and how pastoral care can best satsisfy those needs. The work includes an exploration of the ways in which theology is informed by and contributes to multicultural education issues.  A local church multicultural education project is described and analyzed. Therefore, a pastor's life and ministry without authentic spirituality leads to burnout. To nourish and enrich spirituality requires discipline and direction. The formation of spirituality, although intensely personal, often requires both difficult self-struggle and professional guidance.  Therefore, pastors need spiritual development to overcome situations of potential burnout.
