This research is to find out factors that enable the leaders to effectively equip their youths. This study employs descriptive research methodology and concentrates in three research questions: What are the characteristics of the effective leaders? What are the practices of the effective leaders? What makes effective leadership teams? The findings rest on interviews with leaders of five effective Chinese churches of NYC (BCCC, FaBC, FiBC, NYCAC, and OCM), InterVarsity, and Seekers. In order to accomplish this task, the author interviewed German field officers. Three concerns were expressed. First, current ministry priorities are unsatisfying for the majority of officers. Second, the officers long to invest more of their time in spiritual formation. Third, the officers perceive that the THQs priorities inadequately relate to their own desires for ministry. This study gives three recommendations to the Salvation Army: First, clear ministry valance. Second, maintaining relationships with officers. The overarching research question was 'What leadership practices of senior pastors of Southern Baptist Churches in South Carolina with 500 or more worship attenders have enabled those churches to grow rapidly for three consecutive years?'  Grounded Theory was the method used in this research.  A 360 degree interview approach with the senior pastor and three key leaders in each church provided the data for research.
