This project addresses this reality by engaging the congregations' children in a practice of encounter.  The children of Hill United Methodist Church dislocated among the children of Ubuntu (PCUSA) in order to resist the domination system's forces of isolation, division and diversion. This necessitates the intervention of pastoral care. This project focuses on one inner-city school, and the need some of its students and members of staff have for pastoral care. The Christian Church, and the role that pastoral care plays in its ministry are explored, and ten cases discovered to be in need of pastoral care intervention are highlighted. Adults once distanced from the church have an open door to the church provided them as well as a new place for service and participation.  Children of diverse ages are provided both a new forum for active participation and a time for worship. All those involved are given a new context in which to participate in the narrative message of the gospel which claims seekers and believers in ways which nurture faith and stimulate the enterprise of raising children with biblical faith.  This event, called church school worship, meets contemporary social and religious needs especially prevalent among baby boomer parents. It can serve as a vital and creative tool within a comprehensive family ministry of a local congregation. A review of literature and the development of a theological rationale was undertaken to determine the effects of divorce on children and how some support groups have been utilized.  The model developed by Rainbows for All God's Children, Inc. was implemented and evaluated.
