This project addresses the hurt and pain of the minority group at Grace First Presbyterian Church as result of this change and the need to engage in the practice of healing and reconciliation. Utilizing ethnographic research as a pastoral practice, through practices of listening and discerning, the congregation will engage in co-authoring the future. This case study of Still Waters United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Georgia, was written to research the intentional multicultural vision which we call 'Christ culture' and the success of the congregation to build strong and committed relationships across cultures. The research and findings are based on the period from 1999 to 2013. Still Waters includes people born in North America, Brazil, China, El Salvador, France, Germany, Guatemala, India, Indonesia, Israel, Jamaica, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Vietnam, and Taiwan. The author focused on a particular congregation and ways in which small Bible study groups affected the cultural understanding of members.  She examined the complexities of culture and the significance of building relationships.  She worked with Paul Kimmel's definition of cultural understanding to examine the growth in understanding of persons utilizing a method called 'African Bible study.' This project focuses on five effective church planters and the contextualization of their ministries based on an awareness of the implications of the incarnation of Christ. The conclusions of this project report are based on qualitative research that focused primarily on an interview process. Through the use of Merriam's Constant Comparative Method, primary themes emerged that are reported in a case study format. A premise of this consideration is that such a discovery and appropriation will be most helpfully regarded as a specific case of the process of contextualization.
